Linksys is a computer technology company founded in 1988 that manufactures switches, wireless and wired routers, and other network equipment.

Belkin has been the current owner of the Linksys company since 2013, after having been purchased by Cisco in 2003. Linksys products designed for the home user, most notably the Valet M10 & Valet Plus M20 routers, that were produced during the 10 years of Cisco ownership, may be labeled as Cisco products but are supported by Linksys.

Linksys's main website is located at https://www.linksys.com.

Linksys Support

Linksys provides technical support (software downloads, chat, phone support, etc.) for their products through an online support website:

If you know your product's model number (see how to find it here), the Support Site Map at Linksys Support is very handy. Just hit the Ctrl+F keys together on your keyboard to quickly find whatever device you're looking for.

Linksys Firmware & Driver Download

Linksys provides an online source to download drivers and firmware for their hardware:

Once you've found the product you're looking for, scroll down the page until you see the DOWNLOADS/FIRMWARE section. Choose the Download Software link to see all the available downloads for that particular hardware.

Important: Some Linksys products have different hardware versions that you can choose from when downloading firmware. It's crucial that you select the download link that pertains to the product's correct hardware version. The hardware version is normally located on the bottom of the device. If you don't find one, assume it's Version 1.

Unable to locate the Linksys driver or firmware you were looking for? It's best to download drivers and firmware directly through Linksys, but there are several other places to download drivers too, with free driver updater tools being one of the easiest ways.

Not sure how to update the drivers for your Linksys hardware? See How to Update Drivers in Windows for an easy walkthrough of the process.

Linksys Product Manuals

Many of the user guides, instructions, and other manuals for Linksys hardware are available on the Linksys support website:

Similar to downloading drivers and firmware, Linksys provides the DOCUMENTS section on a product's support page for user guides or other documents that pertain to that hardware.

Note: All of the manuals available at Linksys are in the PDF format. If you don't already have one, you'll need a PDF reader in order to open them.

Linksys Telephone Support

Linksys provides free technical support for products purchased within the last 90 days, at 1-800-326-7114. The Linksys customer service number is 1-800-546-5797. If you're not in the US or Canada, see this page for region-specific numbers.

Linksys's Contact Phone Support page is very helpful. Here you can narrow down what it is that you're calling about so that the phone call can be directed to the right part of tech support, speeding up the whole process.

I also highly recommend reading through our Tips on Talking to Tech Support before calling Linksys tech support. There are plenty of very easy ways to make the process go a lot smoother.

Linksys Live Chat Support

Linksys provides live support via instant chat through the Start Live Chat link on their support page:

There's a separate button to start a chat for home products versus questions about Linksys Store promotions.

Linksys Forum Support

Linksys also provides a forum as a way to further support their hardware:

Additional Linksys Support Options

Linksys's official Twitter account is @Linksys, but they provide support through Twitter at LinksysCares:

Linksys also has a YouTube channel called OfficialLinksys, which is where they sometimes place how-to videos, but many of them are just promotional videos.

If you need support for your Linksys hardware but haven't been successful contacting Linksys directly, see Get More Help for information about contacting me on social networks or via email, posting on tech support forums, and more.

I've gathered as much Linksys technical support information as I could and I frequently update this page to keep the information current. However, if you find anything about Linksys that needs updated, please let me know!
