Experience

Gary Altunian was a former writer for Lifewire, where he wrote about home stereo and home theater systems for more than three years. Altunian had more than 30 years of consumer electronics experience in retail sales and product training and education before he started freelance writing in 2003.

He began his career as a consultant for a high-end audio retailer, and his success led him to the position of director of training for a regional consumer electronics retailer. In 1988, Altunian was appointed National Training Manager for Yamaha Electronics, guiding and training new salespeople in their careers. He held this position until 2003, when he decided to pursue freelance writing about stereo and audio components, one of his passions.
