Take Advantage of Savings With Groupon's Competitors

Groupon is a popular online coupon website that offers consumers "deal-of-the-day" discounted gift certificates to purchase specific products or services from local or national businesses. Anyone can sign up for free to use Groupon and be notified by email about deals.

If you love the Groupon experience and are interested in finding out about companies that provide similar services in your area, check out a few of these sites. Some provide discounts on local products and services, while they all provide savings on national brands.

LivingSocial was Groupon’s biggest competitor until the two companies joined forces. They still have separate presences on the web, and LivingSocial offers new deals every day by email for your local area. You can purchase the daily deal and receive a voucher the next day. The deals are offered for a limited time and represent significant savings off regular prices. For example, you can choose to spend $24 to receive a $75 credit at a local restaurant.

With LivingSocial daily deals, you can get up to 90 percent off the products and services in your city. You can also receive the daily deals on your mobile device. More »

Like Groupon, you select your city or community from Yipit's list, so the coupons offered to you are valid for providers in your area. You are asked to enter your preferences on a worksheet that contains Restaurants, Health & Beauty, Fitness, Retail, Activities & Events and Special Interests, so the coupons can be customized to your buying patterns. Many of the special offers are available only for a limited time or until supplies run out.

You'll need to sign up for the company's emailed Bargain Hunters Newsletter, where you'll read about freebies and coupons from businesses in your vicinity. More »
