If you're over 65, you can grab the AT&T cell phone plan, called the Senior Plan, for just $29.99 /month.

Important Details About the AT&T Senior Plan

These are the basic but most important details that set this plan apart from other wireless carriers:

  • Age Requirement: 65 or older (proof of age is required)
  • Device Restriction: Basic phones only, no tablets or smartphones
  • Monthly Price: $29.99
  • Anytime Minutes: 200
  • Additional Anytime Minutes: 45 cents per minute
  • Night and Weekend Hours: 500 minutes on weekends and weekday nights after 9 PM
  • Roaming and Long Distance: No roaming or long-distance charges
  • Data and Messaging: Not included
  • Rollover and Unity Minutes: Not included

Included long distance calls can be made from the 50 United States, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands to the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and Northern Mariana Islands.

Roaming charges do not apply when roaming within the service area of land-based networks of the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands. International long distance rates vary. Additional charges apply to services used outside the land borders of the U.S., Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands.

AT&T rollover minutes are unused anytime minutes that carry over from month to month for up to 12 wireless billing cycles. Unity minutes grant you unlimited calls to and from AT&T wireless, home and business customers, which is more than 120 million phones.

  • Two-year service contract required
  • One-time activation fee up to $45
  • Regulatory cost recovery fee of up to $1.25 to help defray the cost incurred in complying with obligations and charges imposed by state and federal telecom regulations
  • Gross receipts surcharge
  • State and federal universal service charges
  • Taxes and other fees also apply
