Apple Mail is likely to be one of the apps you spend a great deal of time using. And while Mail is pretty easy to use, with just about all commands available from the menus, there are times when you can increase your productivity by using keyboard shortcuts to speed things up a bit.

To help you start using Mail's keyboard shortcuts, here is a list of available shortcuts. We gathered these shortcuts from Mail version 8.x, but most will work in previous versions of Mail as well in future versions.

If you're not familiar with the shortcut symbols, you can find a complete list that explains them in the Mac Keyboard Modifier Symbols article.

You may want to print this keyboard shortcut list to use as a cheat sheet until the most common shortcuts become second nature.

You may have noticed that not every menu item in Mail has a keyboard shortcut assigned to it. Perhaps you use the Export to PDF command under the File menu a great deal, or you often use Save Attachments… (also under the File menu). Having to move your cursor about to find these menu items can be irksome, especially when you're doing it all day, every day.

Instead of putting up with the lack of a keyboard shortcut, you can create your own using this tip and the Keyboard preference pane: Add Keyboard Shortcuts for Any Menu Item on Your Mac
